Jennifer Saldivar
My name is Jennifer Saldivar and I have been an elementary educator for 21 years and a CALT for the last 4 years. My teaching experience ranges from kindergarten to 4th grade with kinder being my absolute favorite. I have taught in Garland and Wylie, Texas before teaching virtually. I decided to become a CALT so I could teach students how to read more effectively. I am trained in Take Flight and MTA (multisensory teaching approach).
My primary goal when working with a student is to look beyond test numbers and scores, I want my students to discover the love of reading. I want them to enjoy it and choose to read not because they have to. Reading is a life skill and I want my students to discover that books are safe places to go and explore and discover different things. I don’t want them to feel like every time they read it is for a grade or assessment. Reading is such a fun and enjoyable adventure that dyslexia students do not often get to participate in, it is my job to show them that it can be!
I have been married for 29 years to my sweet husband and we have 4 beautiful grown daughters that are making their way in life. We also have 5 dogs and 2 cats who keep us really busy! We love spending time outdoors, traveling and having fun with our girls.
